Using the world’s fastest growing sport of Pickleball, this day long program will instill a greater level of motivation, cohesion, trust and drive from your team.
This program leverages the unique aspects of pickleball (ease of learning, highly social, team orientated, honour-based line calls) to create a day which will build team cohesion like never before, culminating in the unique pickleball spectacle of the Dreambreaker to bring the day to a climatic and fulfilling conclusion.
After an initial classroom presentation on the rules of pickleball and a deep dive into the 6 Cs of teamwork, we will venture onto the court to get IPTPA-approved coaching in the fundamentals of pickleball. Once these newfound basic skills are mastered, we will go into round-robin open play, with all participants being asked to focus on the 6 Cs, with specific focus on cognition, camaraderie, and coachability during this section. Cognition will be very important as the students will find out later!
Back into the classroom for lunch and debrief where the students will be split into two teams and the details of the Dreambreaker will be explained. They will then spend 30 minutes working out their team pairings and order of play in preparation for the Dreambreaker challenge. This brings us to the flagship activity of day – using communication, competitiveness, and commitment, the teams will compete against each other in the Dreambreaker challenge.
There will be one winning team, but no losers, as everyone will have contributed to a team effort that ultimately ensured we each got the best out each other. We end with an award ceremony, bring the camaraderie of the whole group back together and conclude by reiterating the team qualities that they have built together over the day.
